Biography Phil Hamilton Phil Hamilton, Certified Hypnotherapist Born in Ashland, Ohio, Phil attended Western Reserve University (now Case-Western), Ashland University, and after moving to Tucson, Arizona, he completed his Graduate Studies at the University of Arizona. Phil had three interesting careers: A teacher (high school and college), a healthcare manager, and an insurance executive. Each of these careers provided different insights and opportunities to learn. Always a student of wellness, Phil was an avid believer in alternative healthcare (despite the fact he was often employed in the standard model systems). Having innovated numerous programs for healthcare delivery systems, Phil found these models still wanting and his role unsatisfying due to the great distance he as a manager felt between himself and the actual patients. One day at a social gathering, Phil saw a hypnotist help a woman suffering from some type of back pain. The hypnotist asked the woman if he minded if he helped her and at the same time demonstrated his technique to the attendees (he promised not to embarrass the woman or harm her in any way). The hypnotist did help this woman and Phil was so impressed. No devices, no forms to fill out, no tools to carry—just some words. Nothing to carry, no records to keep, and instantaneous relief without drugs. Wow! Said Phil. Phil asked that hypnotist if he could help him learn how to help others in this way. And thus, Phil started down the path of learning to be a hypnotherapist. Many courses and many teachers later, Phil still studies and learns from others. He enjoys the friendship of other hypnotists, and their wonderful sense of sharing for the sake of helping others. Phil is certified by the National Guild of Hypnotists, and recognized by the Arizona Society of Professional Hypnotists. He has served many years as an officer in the Arizona Society of Professional Hypnotists including as a (past) president.
